Sagarlaxmi Ship Breakers

Dathawala Group of Companies started its Ship Recycling activities on 28th February 2003 at Plot No. 04 as Sagarlaxmi Ship Breakers in Alang along the western coast of Gulf of Khambhat, Gujarat India. Since, then 40 vessels of different kinds that have yielded more than 284 thousand tonnes of steel, machinery, non-ferrous materials and usable, are been recycled till this date.

Sagarlaxmi Ship Breakers follows guidelines of Ship Recycling Code – 2013 by government of India and is certified under ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 18001:2007. It has been awarded ISO 30000:2009, HKC SOC and EU SRR by RINA for its ship recycling work. It has successfully faced first audit and is soon to be obtaining Hong Kong Convention Statement of Compliance (HKC SOC) from Class NK.

Sagarlaxmi Ship Breakers operates in a total area of 3645 m2 and about 921 m2 area is dedicated reinforced cement concrete (RCC) impermeable floor in two sections on which cleaning, cutting and handling of oily blocks, machineries and materials are done. Proper and sturdy drainage systems are applied on each impermeable floor sections with their respective intermediate, bilge and storm water tanks that avoid contamination of soil and water.
